Experts of the Service Life of Space Vehicle Design Department of the Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute confirmed that KasSat-2 satellite is in good working condition, the Aerohydrodynamic Institute's website reports. The Institute made acoustic tests modeling the launch and transonic flight. The space craft was exposed to high-frequency pressure pulsations that occur during launch and transonic flight at the max Q. In aerospace engineering, max Q is the point of maximum dynamic pressure, the point at which aerodynamic stress on a spacecraft in atmospheric flight is maximized. Acoustic loads were also modeled in a reverberation chamber. The tests confirmed quality and working capacity of the space craft. Earlier Tengrinews.kz reported that launch of the Kazakhstan’s satellite KazSat-2 has been put off to July 10. The delay was caused by the contractor, a Russian party that failed to eliminate all the defects in time. KazSat-2 is a Kazakh communication satellite, carrying 12 Ku-band transponders for fixed communications and 4 Ku-band transponders for TV-transmissions. It is intended for telecast, fixed satellite communication and data transmission for Kazakhstan and Central Asia.
