Ukraine interested in renewing Kazakhstan oil transit

Ukraine is interested in renewing transit of Kazakhstan oil via its territory, Kursiv.kz writes. According to chairman of UkrTransNafta Aleksander Lazorko, the decision on this issue depends on Kazakhstan now. “We did our best: they wanted the rates not exceeding the ones for Russian companies and we did it. We are interested as the volume of transit of Russia oil is going down,” he said. The meeting of the joint interstate Ukrainian-Kazakhstan commission on economic cooperation was held in Kiev on April 2. The commission discussed traffic of Kazakhstan oil. Besides, the Ukrainian party expressed interest in Kazakhstan oil supplies to Ukraine’s oil refineries. According to the press-service of Ukrainian Vice-PM Sergey Arbuzov, Ukraine had notified Kazakhstan on availability of the capacities in the oil transport system for oil transit via the territory of Ukraine to European consumers, including via Odessa-Brody and Druzhba pipelines.
