Secretariat of CICA to move to Astana

Secretariat of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia will move from Almaty to Astana, Tengrinews reports citing the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Yerzhan Ashikbayev.


Secretariat of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia will move from Almaty to Astana, Tengrinews reports citing the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Yerzhan Ashikbayev.

“We plan to movie the Secretariat by the end of this summer. I think that we will officially present the Secretariat here in Astana in September,” Ashikbayev said.

The 4th Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) took place in Shanghai on May 21. The new CICA Chairman China's President Xi Jinping said that the conference was successful as parties agreed on ensuring security and stability in the Asian region.

The member states are: Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Egypt, India, Iran, Iraq,Israel, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Pakistan, Palestine, Qatar, Republic of Korea, Russia, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan and Vietnam.
