Tengrinews.kz — Vladimir Putin stated that Russia holds Kazakhstan in high regard.
The President of the Russian Federation authored an article ahead of his state visit to Kazakhstan. In the publication, Vladimir Putin emphasized that the two nations are bound by truly strong ties of friendship, good-neighborliness, and mutually beneficial cooperation, rooted in a shared history and the close intertwining of cultures and human destinies.
"The strategic partnership and alliance between our two countries are built on the unbreakable principles of mutual respect and trust, serving as a vital factor in ensuring peace, stability, and socio-economic development across the entire Eurasian space," the Russian President noted.
"I would like to emphasize that our country holds a strong and prosperous Kazakhstan in high regard, with its effective political system supported by the people and its stable, dynamically growing economy. Recently, your republic adopted a new Constitution that reflects the spirit of the times and is future-oriented. By voting for it, an overwhelming majority of Kazakh citizens expressed their approval of the course pursued by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev toward strengthening state institutions, comprehensive modernization of the country, and achieving sustainable socio-economic, spiritual, and moral development. I am convinced that all these large-scale transformations will be successful and will effectively contribute to strengthening the state and improving the well-being of the people," Vladimir Putin added.
According to him, the leaders of both nations pay significant attention to the economy, as Russia and Kazakhstan are major trading partners. The Russian leader cited several figures: total cumulative Russian investment in the Kazakh economy amounts to nearly $30 billion, and over 80 percent of Kazakhstan's total oil exports reach global markets via Russian territory.
"I fully agree with President Tokayev's opinion, which he has expressed repeatedly in his speeches, regarding the importance of involving youth in bilateral relations. After all, it is the young people who will determine the future of Russian-Kazakh relations, consolidating what has been achieved and imbuing our partnership with modern substance. In this regard, I note that over 60,000 Kazakh students are studying at Russian universities, including eight branches in Kazakhstan. For the upcoming academic year, the number of government scholarship quotas for Kazakh citizens has been increased to 800 seats."
Vladimir Putin also called it noteworthy that the first branch of a foreign higher education institution in Russia was the representative office of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
"The shared history of the peoples of Russia and Kazakhstan has always been, and remains, a subject of careful preservation for all of us. A special place in this history is occupied by the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Our countries hold sacred the feats of our fathers, grandfathers, and great-grandfathers, who fought shoulder to shoulder against Nazism and brought peace to all of Europe at the cost of immense sacrifice. We are grateful to President Tokayev for visiting Moscow on May 8–9 to participate in the celebrations marking the 81st anniversary of the Great Victory."
Putin separately emphasized that the Russian Federation remains ready to fully develop multifaceted allied relations with the Republic of Kazakhstan. He extended his best wishes for health, well-being, and prosperity to all citizens of Kazakhstan.
It was previously reported that Vladimir Putin will visit Kazakhstan on a state visit on May 27.
