Chairman of Samruk-Kazyna National Welfare Fund Umirzak Shukeyev called private businesses to take part in construction of the Green Quarter in Astana for the international exhibition EXPO-2017, Tengrinews.kz reports from the government meeting. “We don’t want to take the niche of the private companies. We want to create zones, free economic zones or industrial parks, provide infrastructure, create conditions, set up communications and prepare the platform. We will be happy to pass the buildings construction on to private business. We now have the Green Quarter project for EXPO-2017 and private companies ready to take part in it. We will be happy to give it to them,” Shukeyev said at the meeting. He explained that the government would prepare cost estimates for the Green Quarter and provide a platform for private business’s entry to this project. Earlier Nursultan Nazarbayev instructed to create a Green Quarter pilot project for the EXPO-2017. Samruk-Kazyna fund and Astana administration have to develop and present the pilot project of construction of the Green Quarter in Astana by July 1. By Altynai Zhumzhumina
