Tengrinews.kz – During his speech at the summit of the Organization of Turkic States, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev highlighted the core elements of Kazakhstan’s energy strategy.
Tokayev emphasized that energy development requires primary attention under current conditions.
"This sector is the backbone of the economy and a key element of our strategic partnership. Today we are implementing joint infrastructure projects and establishing safe and efficient routes for energy resource transportation. A prime example of fruitful cooperation in this field is the 'Green Energy Corridor' project carried out by Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Uzbekistan. We believe special focus should be placed on renewable energy sources, primarily solar energy. In this regard, we propose to establish within the Organization of Turkic States a Council of Best Practices on energy efficiency. At the same time, the development and efficient use of oil, gas, uranium, coal, and rare earth minerals remains the foundation of Kazakhstan’s energy strategy," the President stated.
Previously, President Tokayev arrived at the congress center in Gabala to participate in the XII summit of the Organization of Turkic States, where he was welcomed by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
