Nursultan Nazarbayev congratulated all the citizens of Kazakhstan on the Day of People’s Unity in Almaty, Tengrinews.kz reports. “Recently at the People's Assembly of Kazakhstan and in the Address to the People of Kazakhstan (State of the Union Address) I said that in this challenging and raging world much blood is being shed. People kill each other because of inter-ethnic hatred and inter-religious discord. There is a lot of instability in the world, and with instability in place there can be no development. We see this and rally around the idea of have better living conditions. I wish you a happy holiday! Let our life be as blossoming as this spring day. Let the sky be clear, and our friendship grow even stronger. We will overcome all the challenges!” Nursultan Nazarbayev said, addressing Almaty residents who came to Astana square, guests visiting the city and all the citizens of Kazakhstan. The President celebrated the Day of the People’s Unity with Almaty residents. The President arrived to the main square of the city with his wife. His speech was followed by festivities at Astana square. The concert includes performances of Kazakhstan's famous singer Nagima Yeskaliyeva, well known violin player Dzhamilya Serkebayeva and bands from national cultural centers. Kurmangazy State Orchestra of Folk Instruments, Sazgen Sazy Ethnic Ensemble, Saltanat dance group and Tansari Theater music show also performed. The celebration was concluded with a gala concert of Kazakhstan’s popular singers and bands.
