Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev signed a Law Tengrinews.kz reports citing the President’s official website.
This document is called to improve Kazakhstan's regulatory base on countering terrorism.
The new law provides for enhancement of preventive works on countering terrorism. Anti-terrorist commissions will be created in Kazakhstan's regions.
Besides, the document gives a new definition to the "countering of terrorism" term and includes three directions: prevention of terrorism, i.e. elimination of conditions causing emergence of terrorism and making terrorist attacks in all spheres of the people's lives possible; detection, suppression of terrorist activities, solving and investigation of terrorism-related crimes; minimization and (or) elimination of consequences of terrorist acts by involving all forces and means available in Kazakhstan.
