Nursultan Nazarbayev has been officially named the winner of the presidential election in Kazakhstan, gaining a sweeping 97.75% of the votes, Tengrinews reports citing the Central Election Commission of Kazakhstan. The statement was made by the CEC Chairman Kuandyk Turgankulov on April 28, 2015.

"95.21% of voters participated in the election. The votes were spread out as follows: 57,718 people or 0.64% voted for Abelgazi Kusainov, 8,833,250 people or 97.75% voted for Nursultan Nazarbayev, 145,765 people or 1.61% voted for Turgun Syzdykov. On the basis of data collected from oblasts and cities of Almaty and Astana, the Central Election Commission recognises Nursultan Nazarbayev as the elected President of Kazakhstan," Turgankulov said.
Presidential election in Kazakhstan was held on April 26 from 7am until 8pm local time. Immediately after the election, exit polls showed that the leadership of the incumbent president was absolute.
The inauguration of the President was set by the Central Election Commission to April 29. The corresponding resolution was adopted unanimously.
At the meeting the Central Election Commission also registered the new President of Kazakhstan. Kuandyk Turgankulov noted that passing of those documents by the CEC completed the final stage of the election in Kazakhstan.
"Let me congratulate all Kazakhstanis, who were active and unequivocal in their political will during the last election, and thank all the participants in the electoral process and especially the election organizers for their conscientious and responsible work. I think that the election commissions coped well with their tasks in organizing and holding the presidential elections in Kazakhstan," Turgankulov concluded.
The inauguration took place in Astana. Nulsultan Nazarbayev, accompanied by a motorcycle escort, drove in his Mercedes from his residence to the Independence Palace for the ceremony. Five salvos was made before the ceremony began. This was the fifth time that the president took the oath. And the presidential term in Kazakhstan is five years long.
President placed his right hand on the Constitution, pronounced the oath to the people of Kazakhstan and then kissed the national flag of Kazakhstan.
According to the head of the Constitutional Council of Kazakhstan Igor Rogov, the President comes into the office on the moment he takes the oath.
After that the Chairman of the Central Election Commission handed Nursultan Nazarbayev the presidential certificate.
