Media freedom to be discussed in Astana

Media freedom will be discussed in Astana, Tengrinews.kz reports citing official representative of Kazakhstan Foreign Ministry Altay Abibullayev. “On October 31 Kazakhstan Foreign Minister Yerlan Idrissov will meet with the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media Dunja Mijatović. They are going to discuss certain aspects of protection and promotion of freedom of speech and exchange opinions in the OSCE space,” Abibullayev said. According to him, the visit is scheduled to last from October 29 till November 1. Dunja Mijatović will also meet with Kazakhstan Minister of Culture and Information Darkhan Mynbayev, Kazakhstan President’s Advisor Yermukhamet Yertysbayev and Kazakhstan Ombudsman Askar Shakirov.
