Kazakhstan and South Korea to enhance strategic partnership

Kazakhstan and South Korea have once again reiterated their intention to enhance strategic partnership, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the official website of Kazakhstan Prime-Minister Serik Akhmetov. “First deputy Prime-Minister of Kazakhstan and Minister of Regional Development Bakytzhan Sagintaye visited South Korean capital Seoul and attended the ceremony of inauguration of South Korea President Park Geun-Hye as a special envoy of the President of Kazakhstan Nazarbayev. During the visit he met with President Park Geun-Hye and passed Kazakhstan President’s congratulations and wishes of success at the high and responsible position. The meeting also covered prospects of the bilateral cooperation. Kazakhstan and South Korea once again confirmed the intention to enhance their strategic partnership,” the message states. Sagintayev also had talks with Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Moon-soo who noted Kazakhstan’s high achievements under the leadership of President Nursultan Nazarbayev and expressed confidence that the country would reach all the goals and targets of the Kazakhstan-2050 Strategy. Gyeonggi is the biggest industrial region of South Korea. Samsung Electronics and other major companies are located in Gyeonggi Province. Besides, head of the Kazakhstan delegation had bilateral meetings with several outstanding political leaders of South Korea who made their contributions into the “country of morning freshness”, including the former speaker of the National Assembly of South Korea Lee Man-seop, former Minister of Knowledge Economy Lee Youn Ho and Song Young-gil, Mayor of Incheon where the Hi-Tech Future City is being built.
