Kazakhstan and Grenada are in talks on establishment of diplomatic relations, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the press-service of Kazakhstan Foreign Ministry.
“Kazakhstan delegation had this discussion in Grenada during the final stage of its tour in support of Astana’s bid to host EXPO-2017. The meeting with permanent secretary of Grenada Foreign Ministry Elizabeth Henry-Greenidge covered establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The parties expressed mutual interest in establishment of cooperation in tourism,” the message states.
Astana’s bid to host EXPO-2017 was a separate and important subject of the negotiations. Kazakhstan diplomats made a presentation of Astana noting the significance of the EXPO being held for the first time at the territory of Central Asia for expansion of the geography of the International Exhibition Movement.
Representatives of Grenade expressed interest in the exhibition theme suggested by Kazakhstan: Energy of the Future. According to them, Astana may become a dialog platform for resolution of global challenges and threats related to energy deficiency and environmental problems.
