Kazakhstan Secretary of State Kanat Saudabayev will give a speech at the Nuclear Deterrence Conference in London on May 20, Tengrinews.kz reports citing press-secretary of Kazakhstan Foreign Affairs Ministry Ilyas Omarov. “Kanat Saudabayev was invited to represent Kazakhstan in his speech at this representative forum,” Omarov said. The conference on prospects for nuclear safety is called Deterrence: Past and Future. It will be held in London on May 20-21. It is organized by The Nuclear Threat Initiative (USA), European Leadership Network for Multilateral Nuclear Disarmament and Non-proliferation, the Hoover Institution on War, Revolution, and Peace of Stanford University. World famous political figures like George Shultz, William Perry, Henry Kissinger, Sam Nunn and Des Brown are among the initiators of the conference. The forum will look into the nuclear free world perspectives and will be attended by political and opinion leaders and representatives of academic circles from five continents. The conference objective is to enhance the global dialog on the nuclear deterrence, ensure better understanding perspectives of current and future threats to international security and harness these threats.
