“Senate chairman and head of the secretariat of the Congress of World and Traditional Religions Kairat Mami will arrive to Vatican on a working visit on February 5-7 upon the President’s instruction. The visit will include an audience with the Pope Benedict XVI and other meetings with high-ranking representatives of Vatican,” Abibullayev said.
He noted that the parties were planning to discuss major achievements of the 20-year cooperation between Kazakhstan and Vatican.
Last September Kazakhstan ratified the Agreement on relations with Vatican aimed at ensuring observance of Kazakhstan’s legislation by the Roman-Catholic church’s institutions in Kazakhstan in terms of registration and re-registration of the religious institutions.
