On June 2, 2014 the Chairman of the Committee met the Ambassador of Bulgaria in Kazakhstan Ivan Dimitrov. They discussed prospects of deepening the bilateral ties in tourism.

The Bulgarian Ambassador informed that in April 2014 Bulgaria unilaterally introduced a simplified visa regime for Kazakhstan citizens. Bulgaria now issues one-year multiple-entry visas for those citizens of Kazakhstan who committed no violations during use of their previously issued Bulgarian visas and three-year visas for those who own property and committed no violations during use of their previously issued Bulgarian visas.

The first Almaty-Burgas charter flight is scheduled for June 4, 2014 and the return Astana-Burgas fight for June 26, 2014. The national airline Bulgaria Air will be making flights two times a week until September 10 this year.

The sides also dwelt on the issues of training, education and internship for Kazakhstani students, including training of volunteers for the upcoming Expo-2017 exhibition to be held in Kazakhstan's Astana. For instance, cooperation between Mangistau College of Tourism in Aktau and the College of Tourism in Varna has recently been established. In June and August this year Kazakhstani students and teachers will head to Bulgaria for training.

The Bulgarian Ambassador invited representatives of Kazakhstani tour companies to take an information tour throughout Bulgaria.

At the end of the meeting, the diplomats praised the level of the bilateral cooperation between Bulgaria and Kazakhstan in the field of tourism and expressed readiness for a more efficient use of the existing capacity to strengthen tourism ties between citizens of the two countries.
