Tengrinews.kz - A flight attendant told about the strangest things she takes with her to hotels – and surprised social networks.

A video has gone viral on the Internet in which a flight attendant told about three unusual, but, in her opinion, extremely necessary things that she always takes with her to hotels. The video has gained more than 500 thousand views, causing active discussion, and even gave rise to new phobias among travelers.

“First, you will be surprised: I take my own kettle with me. Because the maid told me that they boil anything in these hotel kettles – from soups and broths to menstrual cups. And this is not a joke,” the author said in the video.

In second place are rubber shower slippers.

"I can't know how the shower was cleaned, and I don't want to risk getting a fungus," she explained.

The third thing is disposable toilet seat covers, which, according to the girl, are easy to wash off and give a sense of security.

In the comments under the video, the opinions of Internet users were divided. Some supported the flight attendant's caution.

"I always take an alcohol spray and a pack of soda with me. I wash the shower and the kettle. This is the basis!", "Now you will never look at the kettle in the hotel the same way", "After I once found a strange smell of coffee in the kettle, I also clean everything myself", "I am also a flight attendant. And I have a suitcase plus two bags. But now I think, maybe I really should take the kettle with me," the commentators wrote.

Others considered the recommendations excessive.

"People have money for a hotel and travel, but no money for small things for personal hygiene?", "Do you still take a toilet with you? You never know who sat in it", "Everything is clean in normal hotels. Stay in normal hotels!" Internet users objected.

Some travelers shared their scary stories.

"I was on a business trip. I drank tea from a teapot in the room - the taste was strange. It turned out that the maids forgot to wash out the cleaning product. I literally boiled the product along with the water", "Five years ago I found out that some tourists boil their underwear in teapots. Since then, I haven't drunk tea in hotels", commentators said.

In another video, which has already collected more than 11 million views, the author showed how she protects herself when checking into a room:

  • she covers the peephole with a band-aid so that no light can be seen from outside;
  • hangs a mug on the door handle at night - if someone tries to break in, it will fall and wake them up;
  • checks mirrors for "two-sidedness";
  • asks for another room when checking in - "just in case";
  • hides important things and one shoe from a pair in the safe - so as not to forget documents when checking out.

It turned out that many have encountered alarming situations in hotels: from random attempts to break into the room to surveillance and even kidnappings.

"The guy was breaking into the room for two hours, until I called colleagues. And I'm not looking for acquaintances - I'm 42, and I have three children", "In Egypt, girls are kidnapped even from fitting rooms in markets. Safety is not paranoia, but a necessity", "We rented a room. In the middle of the night, someone started pounding on the door, whispering "girl". It turned out that drunk "mountain guys" were checking the rooms," the commentators shared.

Why is it often cheaper to vacation in Dubai than at local resorts like Burabay? Vice Minister of Tourism and Sports Yerzhan Yerkinbayev answered this question.
