Tengrinews.kz – Pocoyo is trendy again. The 2000s cartoon character has launched a new dance trend and become a symbol of the “autumn vibe.”

Where Pocoyo comes from

If you’re not familiar with this character: Pocoyo is a Spanish animated series created by David Cantolla, Luis Gallego, and Guillermo García Carsí. The cartoon premiered on January 7, 2005.

The main character is an adorable little boy in a blue outfit who won viewers’ hearts with his friendliness, curiosity, and gentle humor.

How the trend started

On TikTok, Pocoyo made a comeback nearly 20 years later. It all began in late October with a short clip where the character dances to the track Muevelou by Vad Boyz. A couple of weeks later, the “little blue guys” had flooded the platform: users repeated the dance, added remixes, special effects, and their own moves.

Commenters say that Pocoyo was their childhood favorite, and the song he dances to gets stuck in the head:

Car enthusiasts especially embraced the trend. TikTok has been filled with videos of Pocoyo dancing on car hoods, dashboards, or side mirrors.

Under the original TikTok sound, users have already posted thousands of videos. Clips gather millions of views. For example, creator y0kados collected nearly 13 million views, editsbytony_ — 10 million, and justsomethinggreat — 5 million.

Bloggers add Pocoyo to their videos, dance with him, and mimic his moves. In the comments, users share their impressions:

Kazakhstanis also joined in: the Kazakhstan Football Federation account posted a clip where Pocoyo dances with athletes during training and interviews at the stadium in Astana.
