“I believe we all have to be humane. If everyone helps just one fellow human being things will be much easier,” a young entrepreneur from Talgikurgan Daniyar Talipov said.
When you enter his bakery store the first thing you see is a poster that says: “If you can’t buy a loaf of bread, take it for free”.
It is not a marketing trick but the owner’s way of sharing kindness with people. “I decided at the start of this business project in 2013 that when we open the bakery and this store, we would help people in need,” Daniyar said. Anyone who cannot pay for a loaf of bread can just take it for free. The small bakery gives away over 300 loafs of bread every month.
The Talgikorgan native was able to open his business thanks to the government-run program Business Road Map 2020.
The owner and the workers of the store understand that there are some underprivileged groups of people who sometimes cannot afford a loaf of bread and they should not be shamed for it. “When people come to our store, they take a loaf of bread and tell the cashier that they want to take the bread for free. We never question them about it because we understand their situation,” the owner explained.
After a photo of the bakery’s initiative went viral online, the owner received numerous calls and messages from those who were touched by his act of kindness. “They were inspired to share goodness with others,” he added.
It also changed the way his competitors do business. The young entrepreneur said that they are willing to follow his example and give away bread for free too.
