Tengrinews.kz – The concert of American pop star Jennifer Lopez in Astana, scheduled for August 1, will add 400 million tenge to the country's budget. This was reported by Astana Venue Management CEO Malik Khassenov.
According to Khassenov, more than 15 thousand foreign tourists are expected at the pop star's concert.
"Jennifer Lopez's arrival will be a landmark moment, opening Astana on the tour map of class A stars. The expected economic effect is that we expect more than 15 thousand foreign tourists. The total contribution to the city's economy will be 6.5 billion in the HoReCa system and more than 400 million in direct tax revenues from the concert," Khassenov said at a government meeting.
HoReCa is a system by which economists calculate how much tourists and city guests will spend on accommodation, food, service in cafes/restaurants and other related services - everything related to arrival, accommodation and leisure:
- Ho — Hotels;
- Re — Restaurants;
- Ca — Cafes / Catering.
Recall that Jennifer Lopez will perform in Astana on August 1. She will arrive in the capital of Kazakhstan from Abu Dhabi as part of her world tour Up All Night. JLo's concert will take place at the Astana Arena.
