Kazakhstani boxer Gennady Golovkin is constructing a resort in the Karkaralinsk National Park, Karaganda Oblast, Tengrinews reports citing Novyi Vestnik.
Golovkin purchased a piece of land on the shore of the Bolshoe Lake in his native Karaganda Oblast. According to the Akim (Mayor) of the district Khalil Maksutov, the shoreline of the lake was meant for development of tourism in the region. “For instance, our famous countryman Gennady Golovkin bought 400 meters of shoreline for construction of a tourist venue. The construction works have already started,” Maksutov said.

The Bolshoe Lake is one of the key attractions in the Karakaralinsk National Park. Tourists and locals like the lake for fishing and nice beaches. The Lake is situated 2.5 km away from Karalinks town and 1.5 km away from a campsite. The total area is 2.5 square km and the maximum depth is around 4.6 meters.
Meanwhile, Golovkin is preparing for his upcoming fight against a British boxer Martin Murray. The Golovkin-Murray fight is scheduled for February 21, 2015 in Monte Carlo, Monaco.
