Tengrinews.kz – A SWISS Airbus A350 aircraft sent a distress signal while flying over Kazakhstan. According to data from Flightradar24, the aircraft was in the Balkhash area and was later diverted to Almaty.
The flight in question is LX123, traveling from Seoul to Zurich. The aircraft was operating under registration number HB-IFB.
According to the flight-tracking service, the aircraft transmitted Squawk code 7700. This is an international emergency signal used by crews to indicate an abnormal situation on board. The code does not specify the exact problem, but informs air traffic controllers that the aircraft requires priority attention and support.
At the time of publication, around 9,000 people were tracking the flight on Flightradar24.
Swiss International Air Lines, also known as SWISS, is Switzerland’s largest airline. The carrier operates scheduled flights to European countries, North and South America, Africa and Asia.
According to preliminary information, the aircraft landed in Almaty at around 12:50 p.m. local time.
