Tengrinews.kz – President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated the people of Kazakhstan on Capital Day, noting the special significance of the holiday coinciding this year with Dombyra Day, a celebration of one of the nation's most treasured cultural symbols.
"Dear compatriots! I warmly congratulate you on Capital Day. It is deeply symbolic that this year the holiday coincides with Dombyra Day. This ancient musical instrument is a vivid embodiment of the unique, millennia-old cultural heritage of the Great Steppe. Meanwhile, Astana has become a clear symbol of Kazakhstan’s dynamic progress and its vision for the future," Tokayev said in his address.
Astana - the face of modern Kazakhstan
Tokayev described Astana as a modern national brand, an epicenter of political, social, and economic life, and a recognized international platform for global dialogue and peacebuilding.
"Astana is where pivotal decisions are made, bold ideas come to life, and dreams are turned into reality. It is a city where the values of knowledge, hard work, national unity, and harmony are upheld," he stated.
Calling Astana the “jewel of Central Eurasia”, the president emphasized its growing role on the global stage and its continued importance as the driving force behind Kazakhstan's transformation.
In closing, Tokayev expressed his hopes for the capital’s continued development and extended well wishes to all citizens:
"May our beloved city thrive and grow ever more beautiful. I wish all Kazakhstani people health, happiness, and prosperity!"
