Kazakh citizen sues over low pension and wins the case

Tengrinews.kz – The Moyinkum District Court of the Zhambyl region considered a civil case regarding the establishment of work experience, citing the press service of the court.

A local resident lost his labor book, resulting in him receiving the minimum pension and not having his work experience at a company where he worked from 1988 to 1998 counted.

Repeated appeals to the relevant authorities yielded no results, prompting the citizen to take legal action. He requested the court to establish the legally significant fact of his work experience to increase his rightful pension. The claimant was able to substantiate his claim in court with certificates and testimonies from two witnesses who worked with him during the specified period.

"The court concluded that the claimant had no other way to establish his work experience, as the institution where he worked was liquidated. The court confirmed that the citizen indeed worked for 10 years at the company and granted his request. The decision has entered into legal force," the court's press service reported.

It’s also worth noting that on September 8, in his address to the nation, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev criticized the low level of pension savings and instructed the government to urgently reconsider approaches to the pension system.
