Tengrinews.kz – Rescuers assisted a 49-year-old tourist from Slovakia who suffered a serious injury in the mountains near Almaty.
The incident occurred around midday on September 19, as reported by the rescue service.
“In the Almaty mountains, near the Moon Glade area, a 49-year-old tourist from Slovakia required assistance. While hiking along the trail, he sustained an injury — a closed femur fracture,” the organization reported.
Rescuers received the call and immediately headed to the location. They administered first aid at the scene, prepared the man for evacuation, and transported him to the Alpiskaya Roza tourist complex. From there, he was handed over to medics and hospitalized at City Hospital No. 7.
Experts warn that mountain trails often create an illusion of ease: the first few kilometers feel like a casual walk, there is cell service, and it seems like the whole route will be simple. However, it's essential to realistically assess your physical abilities. Lack of preparation and overestimation of one's strength are common causes of accidents in the mountains.
