A member of Kazakhstan Majilis (lower chamber of Parliament) Irak Yelekeyev suggested major country universities to take the sports facilities built for the Asian Winter Games, Interfax-Kazakhstan reports. The MP noted that Kazakhstan needs to adopt experience of foreign countries. China, for example, transferred Olympics facilities to Beijing University. He named two universities - Al-Farabi Kazakhstan National University and Gumilyov Eurasian National University - in his request to Prime-Minister Karim Massimov. Earlier Karim Massimov instructed his government to make Asian Games sports facilities available to everyone. He noted that Asian Winter Games should attract more people to do sports and adopt healthy lifestyle. A ski-ramp, state-of-the-art ice palace in Astana, unique cycle track and a bobsleigh track were built for the Asian Winter Games.
