Number of registered cars halved in Kazakhstan

The number of registered cars in Kazakhstan decreased by 50 percent compared to November 2010, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Kazakhstan Statistics Agency. 27,627 cars were registered in November 2011, which is 49.1 percent less than in the same period in 2010. Meanwhile, the total number of cars registered in Kazakhstan as of December 1, 2011 is 3.5 million cars. Kazakhstan might limit duty-free import of used cars from Kyrgyzstan.
