89% of Kazakhstan respondents are ready to set up their own business: Poll results

89% of Kazakhstan-based respondents are ready to set up their own business, Tengrinews.kz reports, referring to the website of Karim Massimov, Kazakhstan Prime Minister that has conducted its own poll. 30% of respondents are ready to start their own business if administrative barriers and tax burden are reduced, 59% - in case of getting state assistance. Assistance could be rendered in the framework of such state programs as Business Road Map-2020 and Employment-2020. 11% of respondents prefer not to start up their own business. Meanwhile the number of small and medium business entities made 694 400 as of December 1, 2011, according to the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade. These entities produced 7422 billion tenge ($50 billion) worth of goods. Kazakhstan moved 11 lines up in the World Bank's Doing Business-2012 rating and is now ranked 47th, according to the World Bank report. Business Road Map-2020 and Employment-2020 programs are being implemented in Kazakhstan now to develop regional entrepreneurship. Participants of the first program have already signed 741 sponsorship contracts. 618 participants have obtained micro loans in the framework of Employment-2020 program.
