About 70% will vote in 2012 elections in Kazakhstan

About 70% of Kazakhstan residents will vote in January 15, 2012 elections, Tengrinews.kz reports, referring to Astana Institute of Social and Political Research that published the poll data on December 26. “The so called declared voting activity amounts to 67.2% at the present time. This is a number of respondents who said “yes” when answering the question “Are you going to to vote in January 15, 2012 elections?” Aigul Sadvakassova, Director of the Institute, said. The respondents were also asked “What party are you going to vote for?” According to the survey the rating of Kazakhstan political parties is as following: Nur Otan People's Democratic Party: 80.5% of respondents, Ak Zhol Democratic Party: 7.0%, National Social and Democratic Party: 2.4%, Communist National Party of Kazakhstan: 2%, Adilet Democratic Party: 1.1%, Kazakhstan Party of Patriots: 0.6%, Auyl Kazakhstan Social Democratic Party: 0.4%, Rukhaniyat party: 0.1%. 5.9% of respondents haven't decided yet what party they are going to vote for. 2000 people from all 14 oblasts of Kazakhstan, Astana and Almaty were polled during the survey. The age groups of the respondents, according to the data from the Institute, are as following: 18-20 age group – 23.2% of respondents, 35-45 age group – 33.8%, 46-60 age group – 16%, and 61 and over – 16%. 0.7% of the respondents have primary education, 4.5% - incomplete secondary education, 32.7% - secondary education, 24.7% - vocational technical training, 5% - incomplete higher education and 32.4% of respondents have higher education. The sociological research was conducted on December 6-16 this year.
