The national women’s tennis team of Kazakhstan won over India in its first Fed Cup match that was held in Astana as part of the Asia/Oceania Zone Group 1 match of the Fed Cup, Vesti.kz reports.
Kazakhstan's Kseniya Pervak (ranked 73rd in the WTA ranking) won over 19-y.o. Rishika Sunkar (ranked 548th) from India with the score of 6:0, 6:0. Yaroslava Shvedova (32nd in the WTA ranking) of Kazakhstan defeated 20-y.o. India's Kyra Shroff (ranked 480th) in the second match of the day. The latter won only one game in each of the two sets and lost with the score of 6:1, 6:1.
Sesil Karatantcheva paired with Galina Voskoboyeva didn’t leave a chance to their Indian rivals. Ankita Raina and Rutuja Bhosale yielded the victory to the Kazakhstan duo with the score of 6:3, 6:1. This last match was of no significance for the tournament score however.
