Almaty leads by number of complex surgeries in Kazakhstan

The highest number of complicated surgeries is made in Almaty, Tengrinews.kz reports citing head of Almaty Healthcare Department Zhanat Kassymzhanova.
According to her, high-tech surgeries are held in all major hospitals of Almaty. "City Clinical Hospital No.7 is the leader: 12 transplantation surgeries have been performed in this hospital. Complicated hearing-improvement surgeries, as well as cochlear implantations are performed in major hospitals of Almaty. That's why we can say that the highest number of complicated surgeries is made in Almaty," Kassymzhanova said.
Kassymzhanova also stated that according to the hospitalization portal, 20 percent of Kazakhstan citizens want to be treated in Almaty hospitals. Meanwhile, she noted that the problem of deficiency of qualified medical personnel still remains. Every fourth adult and every fifth pediatric divisions are lacking personnel in Almaty these days. 81 percent of Almaty citizens applied to local hospitals last year, each of them made an average of 7 visits to hospitals per year.
