The Commander in Chief of the Kazakhstan Naval Forces Zhandarbek Zhanzakov has visited Iran, Tengrinews reports citing to the press-service of the Kazakhstan Ministry of Defense.
Rear Admiral Zhandarbek Zhanzakov had several meetings to discuss expansion of the Kazakh-Iranian cooperation navy cooperation.
Kazakhstan views cooperation with the pre-Caspian states as very significant for consolidate of the good-neighborly relations and maintaining peace and stability in the region.
Admiral Zhanzakov visited the Iranian Naval Base and Khomeini Naval Academy to see the latest achievements and new technologies of the Iranian colleagues.
Earlier this week, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan said that Iran was an important cooperation direction for Kazakhstan.
Astana is interested in the soonest solving of the Iranian nuclear program issue. And it was for a reason that Kazakhstan provided a ground for the negotiation process.
