Kazakhstan affordable housing will cost from 70 to 90 thousand tenge ($470-610) per one square meter, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing Bakhytzhan Sagintayev, Minister of Economic Development and Trade.
“According to the President's instructions the Affordable Housing Program has been launched, Future housing prices are being working out now. These prices should be set within a range affordable to our people. At present the government along with Construction and Housing Maintenance and Utilities Agency are defining these prices and I think that these prices would be really affordable. Earlier construction of one square meter cost 90 thousand tenge ($610) and more. Now it will cost within the range of 70-90 thousand tenge ($470-610) per one square meter,” Sagintayev said.
On March 6 Kazakhstan government will review the Affordable Housing 2020 Program. The government has developed 6 directions for implementing of the program. It will be launched in 2013.
