The share of Kazakh content in public procurements in Kazakhstan has lowered, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the press-service of the National Agency for Development of Local Content NADLoC of Kazakhstan Ministry of Industry and New Technologies. “Compared to 2010, purchase of goods, works and services by the state authorities went 174 billion tenge ($1.2 billion) down in 2011 and made 540.9 billion tenge ($3.7 billion).The share of local content decreased by 5 percent,” the message states. The Agency gives the following statistics: - purchase of goods went 400 million tenge ($2.7 million) down. The goods procured were totally worth 185.8 billion tenge ($1.3 billion). Local content was 7 percent less than the previous year. - 80.5 billion tenge ($544 million) less was spent on works in 2011 compared to 2010. Local content remained the same: 180.8 billion tenge ($1.2 billion). The state purchase website also published the statistics for 2011: obligations under over 900 thousand public procurement contracts were performed for 540.9 billion tenge ($3.7 billion) with Kazakh content making 383.3 billion tenge ($2.6 billion) or 71 percent.
