Kazakhstan President signed gas law

Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev signed a law on gas, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the President’s press-service. The document is called to “ensure energy and environmental security of the country, create conditions for continuous gas supplies to the maximum number of user, increase the share of gas in the fuel and energy balance of Kazakhstan, create conditions for effective use of produced associated gas for domestic needs, effective and safe exploitation of gas supply systems.” Kazakhstan President also signed an accompanying law On amendments to legislative acts of Kazakhstan on gas and gas supply aimed to bring the current legislation into compliance with the law On gas and gas supply.
