Tengrinews.kz – Almost 800,000 foreign nationals and stateless persons received temporary residence permits (TRP) in Kazakhstan over the past year, Minister of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry Zhaslan Madiev announced during a government meeting.
According to the minister, the migration sector is currently experiencing high demand for services.
"Today, 23 public services in the migration sector are available to citizens and organizations in Kazakhstan, 13 of which can be accessed online. Over the year, 2.4 million services were delivered online," Madiev said.
Among the most requested services were:
- issuance of passports and national ID cards – 2.9 million services;
- residence registration – 2.1 million;
- deregistration from a place of residence – 863,000;
- issuance of TRP to foreigners and stateless persons – 792,000;
- creation and correction of Individual Identification Numbers (IIN) for foreigners
- temporarily staying in Kazakhstan – 95,000.
The minister also revealed that two new services will be introduced in the QazETA mobile app in October this year, pending legal adjustments.
"ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) will allow nationals of visa-free countries to apply for entry permits. E-residency will give foreign nationals the opportunity to register residency within the jurisdiction of the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) and launch a business remotely — following models seen in Estonia and Seychelles," Madiev said.
QazETA is a digital platform designed for foreigners in Kazakhstan. It offers services such as:
- digital government services (visas, residence registration, and other migration tools);
- travel assistance (local attractions, tour booking, hotel reservations, ticket purchases);
- communication and transportation (SIM cards, car rentals, taxi services, and public transit information);
- business and investment support (access to Astana Hub, AIFC, and B2B services);
- safety and emergency resources (emergency contacts, healthcare information).
