Tengrinews.kz – Why does the country need one of the most powerful supercomputers in the region and its own language model, KazLLM? What is digital sovereignty, and when will digital inequality disappear in the country? These and other questions were discussed in the new episode of the Taldau Talks podcast, dedicated to digitalization and the development of artificial intelligence in Kazakhstan.
Senate Speaker Maulen Ashimbayev announced the new podcast episode on his Facebook page.
Among the invited guests were Minister of Digital Development Zhaslan Madiyev, founder and CEO of the international passenger transport service Arsen Tomsky, and Chairperson of the Board of Kazakhstan’s national postal operator Asel Zhanasova.
As noted by the Senate Speaker, digitalization is not just about implementing technologies, but a systemic transformation of all areas of life.
“President Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev has set a clear goal – to turn Kazakhstan into a digital hub of Eurasia, where artificial intelligence is widely used and digital technologies are advancing. It is an ambitious but quite achievable goal. To accomplish it, we must build a full-fledged digital ecosystem based on professional personnel, modern infrastructure, and effective AI solutions. Only then can we take a worthy place in the new technological reality,” emphasized Maulen Ashimbayev.
The episode also discussed the launch of the International Center for Artificial Intelligence Alem.AI, the development of a network of data centers in the country, the training of IT specialists, and the implementation of modern AI technologies.
