Tengrinews.kz – A Kazakh company has been included in Japan’s sanctions list. The Ministry of Trade and Integration provided details about the enterprise.
In response to an official inquiry from Tengrinews.kz, the ministry confirmed that the sanctions were imposed on Da Group 22 LLP.
"On January 10, 2025, the Japanese government approved additional sanctions against Russia, introducing a package of measures aimed at freezing assets and sanctioning specific individuals and organizations," the ministry stated.
Being on the sanctions list means Da Group 22 LLP is prohibited from receiving goods and technologies from Japan, officials clarified.
"Additionally, these sanctions may lead to difficulties in conducting international transactions," the ministry added.
However, they assured that the inclusion of this company in the sanctions list does not affect Kazakhstan’s economy.
"The introduction of sanctions on certain goods and companies is an independent decision made by foreign states based on their sovereign policies and national interests," the Ministry of Trade’s press service stated.
In June 2024, Da Group 22 was included in the European Union’s 14th sanctions package. It was also reported that since May 2023, the company has not engaged in import or export activities.
Recall: Japan's government decision includes a ban on exports to 31 organizations suspected of helping Russia evade sanctions. These companies are based in Kazakhstan, the UAE, China, Kyrgyzstan, Thailand, and Turkey.
