During his visit, the President spoke about the metapneumovirus, which is causing concern for many.
"Everyone now is talking about a new infection. There is no need to create a stir. We need to further develop cooperation with China," says Tokayev.
The Head of State also inspected a new dormitory for students, master's, and doctoral students of the Eurasian National University, designed for 2,656 places.
The Minister of Science and Higher Education reported to the President on the creation of an academic hub in the country by opening branches of foreign universities and measures to provide students with dormitories.
The President positively assessed the work carried out in this direction and drew attention to the importance of international cooperation in the field of education and youth exchanges.

In a meeting with students, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized the significance of digitalization and artificial intelligence development in Kazakhstan. Referring to his recent interview with "Ana Tili" newspaper, Tokayev stated that these advanced technologies would be integrated into all sectors of the economy. The President also underlined that he places great hopes on the younger generation, calling on them to actively contribute to the country’s technological progress.
Human metapneumovirus is a well-known virus that has been actively circulating in various countries for decades. Like other infections, it is particularly active during the seasonal peak of ARVI and influenza. Experts state that the virus is primarily transmitted via airborne droplets and, less commonly, through contact.
Note that on January 6, the Head of State is making a working visit to Astana. Earlier, as part of a working trip to the capital, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited the modern sports center QazSwimAcademy.
