Tengrinews.kz - President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received the Special Adviser to the Prime Minister of Japan, Member of the House of Representatives of the Parliament Akihisa Nagashima, according to Akorda.
"Kazakhstan attaches great importance to the development of strategic partnership with Japan. Close relations based on friendship and mutual understanding have developed between our countries. As we say: ‘Kazakhstan and Japan are distant neighbors, but close friends,’" said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The President of Kazakhstan noted the significant potential for expanding trade, economic, investment, and scientific-technical cooperation between the two countries. According to him, the volume of Japanese investments attracted to the economy of our country exceeded 8 billion dollars. Kazakhstan is ready to continue to provide favorable conditions for foreign investors, including leading Japanese companies.
Akihisa Nagashima conveyed warm words of greeting from Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba to the Head of our State and also confirmed Tokyo's firm commitment to further strengthening Kazakh-Japanese multifaceted relations.
The interlocutors especially emphasized the importance of strengthening political dialogue at the highest level and discussed prospects for deepening bilateral cooperation in such areas as trade, energy, transport, education, climate issues, and cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
Earlier, Tokayev received credentials from new ambassadors of Japan, China, and Austria.
