Tengrinews.kz — President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, currently on an official visit to Brussels, met with Kazakh citizens studying and working in Belgium.
During the conversation, the Head of State congratulated his compatriots on the adoption of the new Constitution.
"In a nationwide referendum, our people voted in unity for the Constitution. This exceptionally important document will come into force on July 1. The Basic Law will serve as the primary guide for our nation. I congratulate you on the adoption of the new Constitution," the President said.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed his support for compatriots studying and working abroad.
"Our country needs educated, progressive, and intellectual youth like you. Wherever I am, I always support the younger generation. These are not just words. Supporting our youth is an integral part of the state’s long-term policy. Young Kazakhstanis are studying and working in all corners of the world, and as President, I support this. Regardless of where you are, you remain Kazakhs. We must be a progressive and just nation. To build such a state, we must all unite and work selflessly," the President said.
The Head of State noted that the new Basic Law defines the development of education, science, and innovation as a strategic priority for the state. He also urged the youth to master more languages.
The compatriots shared their professional and academic achievements and discussed their future plans. In particular, Alim-Seri Makhambetali, a third-year student at KU Leuven, spoke about the activities of the Association of Kazakh Students in Belgium, while Aruzhan Bolatbekova discussed the work of the Kazakh Speaking Club in Brussels.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the President wished success to the students and all Kazakh citizens residing in Belgium.
