Tengrinews.kz - President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Suhail Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the United Arab Emirates, on the sidelines of the Astana International Forum (AIF), citing Akorda.
During the meeting, the President fondly recalled his recent talks in Astana with Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Tokayev described the meeting as productive, highlighting that more than 20 commercial agreements worth $5 billion had been signed.
Kazakhstan and UAE signed agreements worth 5 billion dollars
Al Mazrouei praised the organization of the Astana International Forum and expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome.
The two officials discussed practical steps to implement the agreements reached at the highest level, including an initiative to boost bilateral trade to $1 billion. According to the UAE minister, work has already begun on fulfilling the deals signed during the Crown Prince’s visit to Kazakhstan.
They also discussed key areas of cooperation, including energy, agriculture, and transport.
The Astana International Forum is taking place on May 29–30. It serves as a platform for dialogue among governments, international organizations, major companies, and scholars to address global challenges, ranging from the economy and security to the environment and climate. The forum's theme is "Connecting Minds, Shaping the Future."
Earlier, President Tokayev met with France’s Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade, Laurent Saint-Martin.
