Tengrinews.kz - President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Elżbieta Franków-Jaśkiewicz, Chair of the Egmont Group of Financial Intelligence Units, citing the Akorda press service.
“The meeting focused on key issues of international cooperation in combating money laundering and the financing of terrorism,” the statement reads.
During the meeting, President Tokayev:
- emphasized the importance of the Egmont Group as a key international platform for strengthening global financial security and ensuring the effective return of assets;
- reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s commitment to further improving its national anti-money laundering system in line with international standards;
- highlighted the adoption of the “Law and Order” concept as part of efforts to uphold the rule of law and enhance public safety.
Elżbieta Franków-Jaśkiewicz commended Kazakhstan’s ongoing reforms and noted their effectiveness.
