Tengrinews.kz – President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, according to a statement from Akorda.
Tokayev was briefed on the measures being taken to diversify and structurally modernize the economy to ensure the country’s sustainable socio-economic development.
“As part of the President’s instructions, 45 major industrial projects are being implemented, with total investments exceeding 2.3 trillion tenge and the creation of approximately 20,000 jobs,” the statement said.
The Prime Minister also reported on the steps being taken to carry out the tasks set by the President during the Security Council meeting on the transportation sector.
Tokayev was informed about the progress of the growing (vegetation) season. He was assured that the needs of farmers for water resources and agricultural support remain under constant control, water-saving technologies are being implemented, and regional headquarters are in operation.
“The President was informed about the completion of the sowing campaign and preparations for the harvest. The total sown area nationwide amounted to 23.7 million hectares, and full support is being provided to farmers. Since the beginning of the year, gross output of products and services in agriculture, forestry, and fisheries has increased by 4%, with positive dynamics recorded in all regions,” the report said.
In addition, information was presented on the progress of modernizing energy and utility infrastructure as well as on digital transformation efforts.
“Following the meeting, the President gave a number of instructions on further institutional reforms in the economy, regional development, and investment attraction,” Akorda concluded.
