Kazakhstani Gulnur posted a video on TikTok complaining about her trip in a very dirty carriage. According to her, this happened in August, but she only decided to share it now. She bought a ticket urgently and could only get a seat in the economy class, and was shocked by the conditions in the carriage.
"Firstly, it’s dirty. There’s dirt everywhere. Flies complete the picture. Fortunately, there were no cockroaches, or I didn’t see any. Secondly, the heat. Thirdly, the stench. It burns your eyes; you have to breathe through your mouth to avoid inhaling these odors. It’s better not to go to the toilet at all," she listed.

There are over two hundred comments under the post where users shared their experiences and opinions about train journeys in the country.
"I haven’t seen such dirty carriages in a long time," "Who is responsible for this mess?" "It’s awful, the toilet is in terrible condition," "How accurately and precisely everything has been described," people commented.
The press service of "TurksibAstana" commented on the popular video.
"Carriages are updated as much as possible. Older carriages do not have air conditioning systems; only natural and forced ventilation works, and windows can be opened. Conductors maintain cleanliness, but many passengers do not clean up after themselves," the press service said.
Additionally, the company’s press service recalled the words of "TurksibAstana" director Vladimir Rozhko.
He noted that "many passengers do not clean up after themselves."
"However, they demand cleanliness from the conductors. The standard of cleanliness is the same for both passengers and conductors," he said.
