Tengrinews.kz - Student stipends in Kazakhstan will be increased beginning with the new academic year, Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education Talgat Yeshenkulov announced.
According to Yeshenkulov, the number of state education grants has grown 1.4 times over the past five years. For the 2024–2025 academic year, the government has allocated 93,116 grants: 77,084 for bachelor’s programs, 13,113 for master’s, and 2,919 for doctoral studies.
“Starting from September 1 this year (for the 2025–2026 academic year), student stipends will be increased. Bachelor’s students will receive 52,372 tenge per month, master’s students – 117,098 tenge, and doctoral students – 262,500 tenge,” Yeshenkulov said at a government meeting.
According to the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, this represents a twofold increase in undergraduate stipends compared to 2020, and a 1.75-fold increase for master’s and doctoral programs.
Previously, the Ministry of Education announced the dates for final exams for the 2024–2025 school year.
