According to the latest data on the online board of the Almaty airport, 9 flights are delayed on departure. Flights are also delayed on arrival. We are talking about at least 20 flights.
Kazakhstani airlines commented on the mass flight delays.
"Due to bad weather conditions at Almaty airport on January 8, 11 Air Astana flights were delayed. The airline tried to notify passengers in advance about the flight delays and provided hot meals, snacks and drinks. At the moment, the schedule is gradually being restored, but this delay from Almaty will affect the departure of subsequent flights from other airports. Please check the flight status on the airline's website," the press service reported.
The FlyArystan press service also noted that the weather affected the flight schedule.
"Due to heavy snowfall in Almaty, FlyArystan reports a number of flight delays caused by unfavorable meteorological conditions and the impossibility of carrying out anti-icing treatment. The situation also leads to an increase in the waiting time for aircraft arrival in other cities, which causes changes in the flight schedule. We remind you that all flights of the airline are turning, and the time interval between flights is 30 minutes. At the moment, six flights are delayed," the company reported.
