Tengrinews.kz – Reports circulated on social media and messengers claiming that schools in Atyrau were allegedly shut down due to a terrorist threat. However, the regional Department for Emergency Situations (DES) stated that this information is false, citing "Ak Zhaik."
The publication includes an official statement from the department.
"This information was not disseminated by any state authority. To prevent panic and unrest among the population, we urge citizens to rely only on official sources of information," the department clarified.
Residents of the region are asked to remain calm and refer exclusively to official channels.
Earlier, messages were posted on social media and messengers claiming that explosive devices had allegedly been planted in schools in the city of Temirtau. The Karaganda Region Police Department denied the rumors. A criminal case was opened over the deliberate spread of false information. Police officers inspected all educational institutions in the city, and they continue to operate normally.
The day before, a message was distributed via messengers from unknown sources alleging planned armed attacks on schools in Balkhash. Later, Telegram channels spread so-called “official notices” about class cancellations in all city schools. The Balkhash police quickly responded to the rumors, stating that the circulated information was false. The Balkhash city administration also confirmed the messages were fake.
