Tengrinews.kz - Footage of a snow leopard mother with three grown cubs, a rare sight, has been captured in Kazakhstan.

The video, shared on the official Instagram page of the Forestry and Wildlife Committee, shows the family of the endangered predator in the "Kolsai Lakes" National Park.

"This rare and touching scene of a snow leopard mother with three grown cubs was recorded by camera traps in the national park. Such a large litter is unusual for snow leopards and reflects the favorable condition of their habitat. Each step of these graceful predators is evidence that conservation efforts are paying off," the committee noted in its statement.

Snow leopards remain under protection, but their population is still vulnerable due to poaching and habitat loss.

"Footage like this gives hope that the collaborative efforts of scientists and national parks can safeguard these unique predators," the committee added.

The "Kolsai Lakes" National Park was established in 2007 to preserve the unique nature of the Almaty region.

Previously, a snow leopard was filmed curiously examining a camera in the Katon-Karagai State National Natural Park.
