Tengrinews.kz - A VietJet Air passenger plane flying from Astana to Nha Trang made an emergency return to the Kazakh capital on Sunday, August 24.
According to Flightradar, before landing back in Astana, the aircraft circled over Karaganda.
The press service of Astana airport told Tengrinews.kz that the decision was made strictly in line with aviation safety rules.
“The commander of the crew decided to return to the departure airport in the interest of passenger and crew safety,” the statement said.
The airport confirmed that all necessary services were on standby, and the landing took place as planned. A total of 348 passengers were on board.
Foreign media reports that Vietnamese authorities have begun preparations for the powerful Typhoon Kajiki, ordering ships to remain in ports and announcing evacuation plans for more than half a million people in Thanh Hoa, Quang Tri, Hue, and Da Nang provinces. The storm is expected to reach the coast by Monday morning.

According to China’s National Meteorological Center, the typhoon will first hit the southern coast of Hainan Island on Sunday evening before moving toward Vietnam.
Vietnam Airlines has already canceled at least 22 flights to and from central cities, while VietJet Air has also reported cancellations and delays.
