NSC operation: 200 kilograms of explosives seized

Tengrinews.kz – Employees of the National Security Committee (NSC), in coordination with the Prosecutor’s Office, have blocked a channel of illegal trafficking of explosive materials in the Akmola region.

Tengrinews.kz – Employees of the National Security Committee (NSC), in coordination with the Prosecutor’s Office, have blocked a channel of illegal trafficking of explosive materials in the Akmola region.

According to reports, during the operation, 200 kilograms of ammonium nitrate (equivalent to 60 kilograms of TNT) were discovered and seized, along with 200 units of detonating cords with blasting caps.

"Preliminary data suggest that the seized substances were intended for use in illegal gold mining activities. A pre-trial investigation is underway under Part 4 of Article 287 of the Criminal Code. Other details are not subject to disclosure in accordance with Part 1 of Article 201 of the Criminal Procedure Code," the statement said.
